COLD RELIEF PRECAUTIONS Care must be taken to avoid tissue damage (e.g. frostbite) and superficial nerve injury especially in patients with diminished skin sensation (e.g. diabetes). Supervise when using on young children or people with cognitive disabilities. Stop if there is any discomfort during application. Do not use with medical conditions that do not allow for cold treatment (e.g. Raynaud's disease, cold allergy, deep vein thrombosis, peripheral vascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, skin sensation impairments, untreated hypertension or open wounds). Always seek medical advice in cases of doubt. HOT RELIEF PERCAUTIONS WARNING - Do not immerse hands into boiling water. Please take extra care when removing pouch. HOT RELIEF PRECAUTIONS Heat may be sufficiently analgesic to produce local burn injuries, especially in patients with diminished skin sensation (e.g. diabetes). Supervise when using on young children or people with cognitive disabilities. Stop if there is any discomfort during application. Do not use with medical conditions that do not allow for hot treatment (e.g. acute inflammation, dermatitis, deep vein thrombosis, peripheral vascular disease, advanced heart disease, skin sensation impairment, significant hepatic or renal insufficiency, on areas of the body that have been operated on). Always seek medical advice in case of doubt. Never heat the packs when folded or creased, leakage may result. Packs will be damaged by overheating. Do not heat in the oven or grill. CAUTION WHETHER USED HOT OR COLD, IT IS ADVISABLE TO CHECK THAT THE TEMPERATURE IS NOT TOO EXTREME AGAINST THE SKIN. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE GEL PACK IS WRAPPED IN CLOTH BEFORE APPLYING TO THE SKIN. CHECK THE CONDITION OF THE PACK BEFORE USE, DO NOT USE IF IT IS DAMAGED. IF THE PACK LEAKS, DO NOT TOUCH THE LIQUID AND DISPOSE OF THE PACK CAREFULLY IN THE HOUSEHOLD WASTE, DO NOT OPEN THE PACK BEFORE DISPOSING.
How to use
COLD RELIEF Store in the freezer (without pouch) so that the pack is ready to use when needed. Gel takes approx. 1 hour to freeze. COLD RELIEF APPLICATION Apply as long as it is comfortable, not longer than 20 minutes. Leave the treated area uncovered for 20 minutes before reapplying. Clean the product after use with a damp cloth, do not saturate. INSTRUCTIONS - HOT RELIEF BOIL Bring to the boil with sufficient water to cover the pack. Remove the water from the heat and immerse the LloydsPharmacy reusable Hot/Cold pack for approx 4-10 minutes. Check after 4 minutes then every minute until the correct temperature has been reached. MICROWAVE - ADJUST TIMES TO SUIT THE POWER OF YOUR MICROWAVE ACCORDING TO THE MICROWAVE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS Place the LloydsPharmacy Hot/Cold pack flat in the microwave oven. Remove the pack and knead to distribute the heat and check that the desired temperature has been reached. If not, return to the microwave for 10 second intervals, until the correct temperature has been achieved.
